Where are we heading to?

After Sri Kamaraj's fantastic rule, where are we today after 40 years of rule by these Dravidian parties and the caste based reservation system? Recently a temple trustee (a Dravidian) very sadly said to me "3 generations of Tamilnadu have been spoiled by these parties". Let's see....

Govt offices

I went to the LIC office of Adayar branch last year. From the reception hall I just glanced around and I saw portraits of Dr.Ambedhkar and posters of some specific union all through.. everywhere... I tried to locate a single Gandhi photo but believe me, I could not! If some unions want to portray Dr.Ambedhkar, why not do it very well within their union office? why in a common office space where the customers come and go? Later after a few days, when a LIC agent friend of mine called me up for a policy, I told her about what I saw in the Adayar office and asked her to go to the people portraying Dr.Ambedhkars and not come to me.

That's the state of Govt office system of Tamilnadu...

Educational System

I attended the parents-teachers meeting of my son a few months back (he is in 11th State board now). He was with CBSE till 10th std and I switched him over to a State board school for 11th. The Principal of the scholl told very clearly, publicly, in her address to all parents "If you are in CBSE, the quality of teachers is high enough that students can write on their own words in the exams but in State board this is not the case. The quality of the teachers evaluating the papers is so very bad that we don't encourage students to write in their own words. We ask the students to mug up and write in the same words as given in the books. That's why the State board exam system (12th) is slowly going towards objective type questions. For 12th Std Computer Science, 75 marks out of 200 are objective type questions where only some dumb idiots (like computer) are sufficient to valuate the answers". In CBSE, my son never considers English as an exam at all. I hardly seen him studying for English (even for 10th board exam) but in State board, he was struggling like mad for English exams especially in the initial few months.

That's the state of Educational system of Tamilnadu..

Medical field

With all the reservation systems we know the quality of doctors. The state head, Mr.MK, had brought doctors from AIIMS for his treatment in a private hospital. Why not Royapettah Govt hospital? Why not some Govt Doctors who had come through the reservation system? That would have motivated more people to speak for social justice, is it not?

That's the state of the Medical system of Tamilnadu...

Judicial System

There is no need to talk much about this now. The lawyers and the law students conducted themselves to speak for themselves. Now The Law colleges have become political centers of some specific castes. When the whole Tamilnadu excepting a few politicians was silent on Srilankan issue (we had our own issues to fight for like the recession, job insecurity, price rise etc.,) as their internal issue, how come only one sector - the lawyers - jumped up and down? Are our lawyers are so compassionate, so loving, so caring to come in support of the Tamils by heart? The guys who defend terrorists and well known criminals shed tears for Srilankan Tamils! The same guys may even argue for Singalese against Tamils, if there is a chance/ money!

I read that the hero of the event, Mr.Rajinikanth (a lawyer who threw eggs on Swamy in the court hall itself in front of the judge) has so many pending cases against him right from his Law college days - such an elite background. Is there any lawyer/ judge having guts to speak against him? They didn't attend the court for 2 full weeks and Mr MK announced that he will go for hunger strike (he thinks he is a Gandhi - what a disgrace to Gandhi's fastings!) and I don't know what happened to his announcement then.. It was an unprecedented law and order breaking up which the country had never witnessed in its 60 years of independence.

There was a lawyers' rally yesterday in chennai. I have not seen it but I thought they should have brought that hero Mr.Rajinikanth (lawyer) in a decorated chariot for bringing total grace to the lawyers!

The country had seen one Rajiv Gandhi for IT revolution; it had seen one Narasimha Rao and one Manmohan singh for economic reforms but when is the time it sees a man for Legal reforms?

As an urgent requirement, there should be a system wherein
a) for a crime committed by Politician, Judicial and Police personnel the punishment should be double/ triple that of a common man.
b) for the the same crime repeated again (for anybody), the punishment should be double. For the first theft, if it is 1 year, for the second it should be 2 years, for the 3rd, it should be 4 years and so on..
I saw a scene in a movie recently. After doing one murder, one person was luring another person to do another murder by saying "whether you do one murder or 10 murders, it is the same punishment, so let's do this also.."

That's the state of the hopeless judicial system working for us...

Police

I don't have to say anything on this. When was this system good enough to become bad now? It maintains its heritage..

That's the state of the law and order system of Tamilnadu..

Religious

The head of the state, MK, is spitting so much venom against Hindus - the majority people of the country/ state just because there is no vote bank for Hindus but thinks he gets the vote bank of minorities by doing all these. More and more temples are being taken over as if the existing temples are being maintained wonderfully! So many ancient temples are not even open to devotees or see only one kala pooja simply because of the insufficient no of priests whereas the collections from the temples are going to other religions as well. Leave alone the tens of thousands of ancient temples of Tamilnadu, even the 275 Thevara padal petra stlamas and the 108 divya desams are not being renovated/ maintained properly.
M.K.Stalin with family is going and falling at the feet of Saibaba with the full consent of his father but when others of his party put kumkum on their forehead it is a sin, it is being ridiculed!

That's the state of the Religious System of Tamilnadu...

This (back)boneless Govt is taking care of us (the head of the state is having a real backbone problem and undergoing treatment, hope we will be protected properly after his backbone recovery).

Where are we heading to?

இறைவா... உன்னால் மட்டுமே எங்களைக் காப்பாற்ற முடியும் (God.. you only can save us).

Azhagi - THE product for Tamil typing

I have been a Blogger since nearly 2 years and had been searching for some products to type Tamil in unicode. Many friends recommended many products but none gave me what I wanted.
I finally stumbled upon this product:
http://azhagi.com/free.html
and my previous post was my first attempt on Tamil.
In one word, it is "awesome" and it's a simple application of common sense. Most of the successes are achieved simply by applying "common sense" and not any complicated/management school thinkings.

Newyork Times Headline

Look at the inherent meaning of this notorious headline from Newyork Times:

A ‘Slumdog’ Kind of Night

at the Oscar Ceremony

Please see: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/23/movies/awardsseason/23oscar.html?hp
(Thanks Mr. N.Subramanian for the link)

If we are not agitated and still portray the award - it is only our mistake. Let's portray our Rahman and the Indian music and NOT the award.

- It is an award by the Millionaire dogs - (thanks Saravanan, there can't be a better reciprocation )
- AN AWARD IS NOT AN AWARD IF IT HAS TO BE LOBBIED OUT.

Slumdog Millionaire – a filthy film by the filthy dogs!!

Few days back I had a chance to see the movie ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, luckily in a DVD quality print at my home. Lucky because I was thinking of seeing this movie in a multiplex after all these hypes but luckily saved a lot which otherwise would have been a sheer waste for this filthy, yes, a real filthy movie!

The film is 'about the Bombay slum life made by a British film crew’ and this one liner is just sufficient to imagine how the film would be. Yes, our country had been disgraced to the lowest level possible - a sheer act of envying and intolerance of ‘India shining’. Even if you argue that this is a real happening in Taravi, there are enough Bollywood teams to show it and in fact they have done it before in many films in far better ways and we don’t need the British dogs to show up our slums. If an Indian film crew has to show the other side of British, you guys, will not be able to tolerate.

Highlights of some of the intentionally bad projection of our country

  • The open public toilets in the slum area
  • A slum boy purposely jumps into an open public toilet shit collection pit and comes out with shit all over the body in order to scar away people and gain entry for an autograph from Amitab Bachan – Quite natural Amitab criticized the movie. I feel nasty even to write this and I am sure you will feel the same while reading this as well but this has been shown to a full length. Only shitty people can think of such a shitty idea - I don’t think there was any other film ever made in the world film history to disgrace a human kind like this.
  • The hero, a Muslim boy, was being tortured by police for wrong/ no reasons - an attempt to project that the innocent muslim youths are being tortured in the name of terrorism.
  • A boy was cheated by Indians but being helped by British tourists
  • Boys cheating foreign tourists in the tourist places
and many such..

What an extent of overdoing and what a disgrace to the country! In order to give world wide publicity to this, these crooked minded westerners give all the possible awards with ulterior motives and we people knowingly or unknowingly glorify the movie. What an ignorance!! I don’t know what are the Thackareys and the Hindutva people are doing. We people have not yet learnt from our history and if we are so ignorant, we certainly deserve another few centuries of (slum) dogs’ life under another bulldog!

Every Indian who worked for the movie like Anil Kapoor, AR etc., should apologise before the country. AR had created far better musics in many many movies already and these guys were deaf to all those and they wake up all of a sudden and come to know of AR only now. If AR had created the same music for some other movie I am pretty sure it would have gone in the wind unnoticed. So if AR gets an award today, it is NOT for his music - it is just to honour him for having worked for THIS filthy movie. Also AR’s patriotism is well known. I understand, he refused to work for the Vande Mataram II due to the pressure from the ‘understandable circles’ just because of the upraise of the ‘Hindustani feel’ the Vande Mataram I had created.

It is intolerable guys, please wakeup and understand the real motives before all these awards. Remember every penny spent on this movie is against your own self, your own country – DVD quality print is already floating around in the internet and if at all you want to see it, grab it.

............Created a just few hours before the announcement of Oscars!!

A talk by Sri Sri Ravishankar, Art of Living

A talk by Sri Sri Ravishankar..

"People have very funny ideas about enlightenment. Every culture, every religion has got their own ideas about it.

In Christian culture, a rich man cannot be enlightened. It is impossible. You have got to be in poverty to be enlightened. From the Christian point of view, Rama cannot be enlightened! Even a camel can go through a needle, but not a rich man! Many years ago, once I was traveling from Bangalore to Delhi. I met a Christian priest in the airport. He just looked at me and I smiled back. He came to talk to me and said, “I feel like talking to you my dear brother. You seem to be a nice person.” He asked me if I believed in Jesus and I said yes. He was a little stunned. He asked me the question again and I said yes again. Then he asked if I was a Hindu. And I said “perhaps”. He then asked if I believed in Krishna and I said yes. He then said: “But how can Krishna be God? He is a butter thief. He was married. How can somebody be married and steal butter and all and be God? He is not the one who can give salvation. You know, Jesus is the only way. I was also a Hindu before and now I have become a Christian. From the time I have become a Christian everything is happening. Jesus is taking care of me. I tell you, you better become a Christian.”

How can Krishna be enlightened? Jains do not think that Krishna is enlightened. He created the war. Arjuna was going to go away, take sanyas and renounce the world. Krishna brainwashed him and brainwashed him and made him fight. Krishna was responsible for this huge war. How could he be enlightened? Stealing butter, having so many wives. Impossible! Jains do not think that an enlightened person, sadhu, should ever wear clothes. Their idea of an enlightened person is one who walks nude. One who is not nude is a little less great. Who knows what will happen? What desires would come up in him? Whether they are free from lust or not, how would you know? What is the proof? Jain sadhus are nude. They do not wear any clothes. They are considered enlightened. This is their idea of enlightenment. They simply do not consider those as enlightened who eat two square meals a day. That too one who enjoys a meal is not at all enlightened. Can a saint eat chocolate? He is not a saint then!

Buddhists have got their own idea of who is and who is not enlightened. Somebody who sings, dances, looks at the whole world, pleasing the world is not enlightened. Someone who meets their family and sits with their family is definitely not enlightened. I have seen many of these so-called sanyasis. They are so afraid that they cannot meet their families. May be attachment will happen. They have run away from the family and fear that attachment for the family can come up anytime.

I know of a so-called sanyasi who would not meet his mother. He would meet everybody else but not the poor old lady who is his mother! What had she done? He would not meet her. She was 70 years old and would cry and cry. So-called sanyasis, nuns, brothers, fathers behave like this because that is the idea they have. See, when you can love everybody, why can’t you see your family members in the same light? Many sanyasis go through this difficulty in their heads about not seeing their family. These are all just concepts about enlightenment. The main essence forgotten is dispassion or centeredness. Being centered in spite of everything is the second essential principle in yoga. This is vairagya.

As you all know, there are three gunas or qualities. They are sattva, rajas and tamas. Three gunas come into our life in cycles. When Sattva comes, there is alertness, knowledge, interest, and joy in everything. When Rajo guna comes, more desires, selfishness, restlessness and sadness arise in us. When Tamo guna comes, delusion, attachment, lack of knowledge, lethargy, all this comes. These three come in life turn by turn. But one who is centered will watch, witness and just move through that very naturally, innocently, without being averse to it.

It is said: Yogaha karmasu kaushalam - the skill in action is yoga. Yoga itself means skill. Yoga is the skill to live life, skill to manage your mind, skill to deal with your emotions, skill to be with people, skill to be in love and not let love turn into hatred."
