Is there not a limit for your mismanagement Mr.Karuna - 2 ?

IMG_3253 IMG_3251

This is the platform that is present at the Elliots beach currently. Do you see anything wrong in this? If you don’t, then you don’t have those special eyes that our Mr.Karuna and co have. They see something wrong in this (beautiful) platform and are removing this to lay a new one.

IMG_3250 IMG_3248
IMG_3247

Then this is another new platform at Besant road where they had recently laid.

IMG_3242

The same story here also. Removed the good existing ones and laid the new one.

IMG_3243 IMG_3244

As you can see the junction of the old and new platforms, do you see any reason for replacing the old ones?

If you want to see a dictionary meaning for “atrocious” then this is what it is.

Whoever comes to power, then swindling our money is going to be the case. Then why don’t you fellows do some really needed works somewhere and swindle? There are plenty of places that need some good roads, drainage etc.,

By doing this, Mr.Karuna, are you saying that you don't have any other work to do with the money the Govt has? Is Tamilnadu more beautiful everywhere else than this? The swindling standard has risen to a new level in this MK’s rule and this is called in tamil ‘nohamal nungu edukkarthu’. These people want to swindle by doing some white collar jobs!! and not by installing water schemes, drainage, toilets etc..

I live at Kalakshetra colony, Besant Nagar where lot of IAS officers and top bureaucrats like ex Chief Secretary Lakshmi Pranesh, Shantha Shella Nair are all living. Here they lay road every year without fail. Even when the road is good, they lay new one over it. My sister’s family who live at Royapuram whenever they see road laying here, they used to curse the Govt, understandably.

Only God can save us (Tamilnadu)..

Visaka Hari and Kuselar

Visaka Hari, the prodigy

Visaka Hari is very popular now for her “Sangeetha Upanyasams”, i.e., half classical music and half Upanyasam. In an introductory speech of Sudharani Ragupathy, the dance guru of Visaka Hari, she was a child prodigy in both dance and music and got confused at one stage on which one to choose as her career. She finally decided music with Lalgudi Jayaraman as her guru. She wanted to get married to the family of Sri Krishna Premi, affectionately known as “Sri Anna” and married to Sri Hari, son of Sri Anna. During her performances you can see her only in 9 yards saree. When we met a mother of Visaka hari’s classmate in one of the programs, she told that Visaka hari was like any other city girls during her teens with jeans, t shirt etc., What a decisive transformation at this age! - only some divine personalities can do that.

For the first time, we attended her performance “Kuchela Upakyanam” at Sivakami Pethachi Auditorium/ Mylapore during the Dec 2006 season. Luckily I bought the tickets the previous day and it was a 'sold out'. She makes it a point that either her programs are entry free or there is a separate place outside for free live projection.

Kuselar and Krishnar were the two extreme ends. Kuselar was starving and could not even feed his children. His wife had to approach her neighbours even to carry ‘aval’ for Krishnar. On the other hand, Goddess Lakshmi, the God of wealth, is Krishna's wife and His palace was glittering as heaven. So Kuselar, a gurukulam mate of Krishna, went to His palace to see Him with mind-full of doubts whether he will be allowed entry inside or will be thrown out by the gate keepers due to his poor appearance and even when he is allowed inside, whether Krishna would remember and recognize him etc., But on hearing the name of ‘Kuselar’, He came to the outer gate itself to receive Kuselar and what a reception it was! Krishna poured all His love for Kuselar and made him sit in the Swing while Krishna Himself sitting on the floor! They were chatting all the nostalgic memories of their Gurukulam. Goddess Lakshmi was serving Kuselar! Imagine what a scene it would have been! The impeccable combination of carnatic music and description by Visaka Hari was an equal match to that beautiful scene.

An unimaginable and unexplainable divine presence at that moment at the auditorium! I could literally feel it.

Right from the moment Kuchelar set his foot at Krishna’s palace, the last 45 minutes or so of the program was bringing tears in me abundantly.

It was a moment of love, love, love.. choked in divine love only.

With my wife sitting next to me and a neighbour on the other side, I tried controlling but what to do, tears were rolling down uncontrollably all through those last 45 minutes. Though we have seen about 6-7 programs of her so far, this, by far is the best of her. So when you hear ‘Kuselobagyanam’ from Visaka hari, don’t ever miss it (and don't forget to inform me as well).

Then I went to another program 'Meenakshi Kalyanam' at P.S.High school/ Mylapore. That was not at all fit for a crowd expected for her programs. So, the hall became full very easily and I just waited outside thinking that I will go back after hearing for about 15 minutes or so, since the mosquito bites were too strong for anyone to stay outside there. Then I slowly went around to the side looking out for some seat somewhere and found a side door getting opened all of a sudden. I entered through that which led me directly to the stage. It is very usual in all her programs that people jam pack around her on the stage itself due to lack of space in the auditorium. Such is the massive crowd thronging her programs nowadays.

I attended another program of her - 'Krishna Avatar' at Kamaraj Arangam. On coming out of the program, I and my wife had a strong feeling she is nothing but the re-birth of Sri Andal. Only people with such intimacy to the divine can deliver such discourses! nobody else can.

I wish her all good health, wealth and everything she needs in life to carry on and on and on endlessly through many births.

Visaka Hari 2
Visaka Hari 1

There are two low cost DVD and VCD titles released by Moser baer – Seetha Kalyanam and Sundhara Gandam – available in all DVD/VCD shops and Giri Traders/Mylaopre.

The biggest drawback of Hinduism is that we are not organized very well and we don’t market ourselves properly. With so many sabhas and classical music lovers in the city, not a single popular performer of the classical music has a website on their programs schedule so that their fans can follow them all through their programs wherever possible - just like me wanting to do with Visaka Hari.

I see whether I can create such one on my own..

Is there not a limit for your mismanagement Mr.Karuna?

You had declared today as a holiday due to the centenary of CNA and the announcement came just last night. All the schools are having Quarterly exams going on and what a confusion to these kids! My brother-in-law's kids at Coimbatore who had exams, went to the school this morning and returned back. My son got panicky at the last moment whether the exam tomarrow is the original exam of tomarrow or the postponed exam of today. Pls stop all your mismanagement to non-acedemic areas and leave these students, Karuna. Due to aging, your mind does not work at all, or works very slow and only yesterday night, after the Pondicherry govt declared holiday, your mind woke up....

How unfortunate we are!

Why God allows pain and suffering?

Life’s important questions - 3

Why God allows pain and suffering?

Found in my inbox:

This is one of the best explanations of why God allows pain and suffering that I have seen..

A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed. As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation.
They talked about so many things and various subjects.
When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said: “I don’t believe that God exisits”

"Why do you say that?" asked the customer.

"Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist. Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain. I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things."

The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument. The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop. Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard. He looked dirty and unkempt. The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber:
"You know what? Barbers do not exist."

"How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber. "I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!"

"No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers don't exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside."

"Ah, but barbers DO exist! But that's what happens when people do not come to me."

"Exactly!" affirmed the customer. "That's the point! God, too, DOES exist! And that's what happens when people do not go to Him and don't look to Him for help. That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world."

Added by me:

Heard in one of Sri Sri Ravishankar’s question answer sessions:

Question: When there are so many spiritual people around in India why there is so much pain and sorrow around?

Ans: Why are you asking only this and why don’t you ask when there are so many doctors and hospitals around why there is so much sickness around? and more explanation....

Is God responsible for our bad deeds?

Life's important Questions - 2

Is God responsible for our bad deeds also?

This is another question that puzzles everyone. I got the best answer for that question in the following book published by Sri Gnananandha Tapovanam near Thirukkoyilur:
Sri Gnananandha Dharisanam
Written by Padmasini Gopalakrishnan and Swami Nithyanandha Giri and
published by Sri Gnananandha Nikethan, Tapovanam (post), PIN: 605756

I have reproduced the specific pages of the book and I give below my own translation in english for the benefit of non-tamils. It may not convey the 100% of the original but I have tried my level best and here it is:

"Even a single atom can not move without the awareness of God"

This is an experience narrated by Chithra Vadivel Pillai, a station master at Aranthangi. He was an aethist and had great pleasure in posing some tricky questions to the spiritual people and embarass them. The first question he asks is "If even a single atom can not move without God, then He is responsible for even our bad deeds, isitn't?". This first question itself used to disturb them and Pillai used to enjoy their delicacy. After some time, he slowly changed towards spirituality and he wanted the answer in real sense and not for the purpose of embarassing. So he went to Sadhguru Sri Gnananandha and waited for a chance for a privae audience.

Now the conversation:

Pillai: I am consfused. If God is responsible for everything, all the bad deeds also were triggered by him only, no?

Guru (with a loud laugh): A good question and it needs an answer for sure. Let it be... Tell me what are "bad" deeds? I am not clear on that.

Pillai: One who disturbs others physically and mentally for his own benefit

Guru: What kind of bad deed we have done so that it disturbs us now?
He stares at Pillai with a piercing look that triggers Pillai to tell the truth without hiding anything

Pillai: Not one or two, Swami. In my young age, I have done almost all the worst deeds excepting murder and theft.

Guru: For example..

Pillai: A person came to me in hunger and I had beaten him with a stick till his leg bones break. I have behaved badly with a teenage girl in college and I had been resposible for her breaking the college studies in the middle. There are more...

Guru: How can these be bad deeds? total non-sense. One should be blessed to do these kind of good deeds. Don't confuse yourself - Swamy is telling. All what you had done are all good deeds only, be calm (smiling).

Pillai was shocked to get this answer and somehow managed to continue the conversation..

Pillai: How can those be good deeds, Swamy? they are only bad deeds, no?

Guru: You can not say just like that, proof?

Pillai: All our ancient sayings and the holy books say only that repeatedly, no?

Guru: Holy books? throw them in the dust bin. We don't have faith in that, any other?

Pillai: I am sorry, Swamy. Promise, they are all bad deeds only, my conscious also tells that, Swamy..

Guru: Let's come that way.. So, your consciousness is telling. Let's hold on to it strongly. It is what that 'He' is. We can not do anything without the awareness of that 'He'. Whatever we do, that 'He' does not fail in whispering to us what is good and what is bad. If that 'He' tells it is bad, let's leave it and when it says good, let' s do that. That 'He' alias God throws both in front of us. It is we, who have to differentiate between them and get benefited. So we don't have to search Him anywhere in deep sea or sky. Let us know that He is always with us and let's act accordingly.

Pillai: This explanation by Guru opens my eyes, I am thrilled, excited, whatever.. Internally I am feeling as if a knowledge light, lights up and removing all the darkness that was in store all through my inside so far...

Sadhguru had just touched upon the point that God is present in our Cosnsciousness but goes beyond that to the Highest knowledge and Self in the chapter "Uyyum Vazhi Eethu" in the same book.

A not to be missed book indeed...

Y-Chromosome and 'Gothra'

Found in my inbox:

Y-Chromosome and 'Gothra'
http://www.boloji.com/astro/00324.htm

Recently, US President (& Author of Declaration of Independence of United States) Thomas Jefferson's paternity of his slave Sally Fleming's children has been in news. For nearly 200 years, since US president Thomas Jefferson's time, many traditionalists maintained that Jefferson did not cohabit with Sally. But some descendants of Sally maintained otherwise and claimed to be progeny of the ex-president. This old historical controversy has now been resolved using modern genetic DNA analysis methods (Reference - Founding father by Eric S Lander & Joseph J Ellis and Foster et al, Nature | Volume 396 | 5 November 1998 | pages 14, 27-28).

The genetic DNA study of descendents of Jefferson family and Sally Fleming's family, has confirmed with very high probability that, US President Thomas Jefferson was indeed the father of at least one of the sons of Sally Fleming. How was this genetic work done? Geneticists used a scientific fact, that most of the male Y-chromosome is passed intact from father to son. Females do not carry the Y-chromosome. With modern advances in genetics, this fact has been used to trace paternal lineage, and resolve stories like Thomas Jefferson's.

Thomas Jefferson did not have surviving sons from his legal wife. But his paternal uncle's male lineage is in tact to present time. The genetic Y-chromosome of these persons (eight generations down from Thomas Jefferson's paternal uncle) living at present time was used as the reference. This was compared with intact male line persons from (Five generations down from) Sally Fleming living presently. The geneticists used polymorphic markers so that Y-chromosome can be distinguished by haplotypes. They found that Sally Fleming's son Eston's male line progeny had same haplotypes as Field Jefferson who was paternal uncle of Thomas Jefferson. Using other physical and living proximity factors, the geneticists have concluded with high probability that Eston Fleming was the son of Thomas Jefferson and Sally Fleming.

This class of human male lineage research is now very active and is being conducted in native populations of Wales, England, in Iceland and to establish uniqueness, paternity, historical lineage, medical issues and intellectual issues of heredity etc amongst various population groups. Does this not ring a bell amongst traditional Hindus who believe in 'gothra' identification carried down from Sanathana-dharma orthodoxy?. 'Gothra' is an identity carried by male lineage in India from time immemorial. Most people have gothra chain names traceable to Rig Vedic Rishis like 'Gowthama', 'Vasishta' 'Viswamithra' and to first sons of Vaivaswatha Manu like Angirasa & Bhrigu. Purana such as Vishnu Purana refer to individual identity through 'Gothra'. Listings of more than 250 Gothra chains have been explicitly listed. I have heard of instances of Muslims converted from Hinduism still keeping track of their 'Gothra'.

For example we know that Buddha, named Siddhartha was of 'Gowthama Gothra'. It means that his Y-chromosomes were probably from Rig-Vedic Rishi 'Gowthama Rahoogana'.

How did the people of 3000-4000 years ago realize that genetically there was transference of some unique characteristics only from father to son (in the form of Y-chromosomes)? In recent past when it was fashionable to condemn all Indian traditional systems as of no value, non-believers have referred to 'Gothra' as archaic, unscientific, irrelevant and male chauvinistic!

Modern DNA & genetic research has confirmed male line Y-chromosomal transference, through 8 generations in case of Thomas Jefferson. 'Gothra' in essence really stands for Y-chromosomal identity.

Nearly 2500 years have passed since death of Buddha, but many 'Gowthama Gothra' individuals exist now also. They can claim genetic relation to Buddha. Typically 4 generations occur in 100 years and in 2500 years nearly 100 generations are complete. Other 'Gothra' chains may have run 100-200 generations from Vedic period if male lineage did continue unbroken. Do Y-chromosomes remain intact after, say 100 generations of unbroken male issues? Genetic mutations may or may not have changed some Y-chromosomes.

This appears to be a very interesting field of research for future to see if persons of same 'Gothra' in the present generations have common and unique Y-chromosomal features. – Dr S.Balakrishna

Important Spiritual Instructions

20 Important Spiritual Instructions

by Sri Swami Sivananda http://www.sivananda.org/teachings/philosophy/spiritual_instructions.html

These twenty instructions contain the very essence of all Yoga Sadhana. Karma, Bhakti, Jnana, and Raja Yoga will all come to one who follows them whole-heartedly. They are the unfailing keys to quick and effective development and culture of the physical, mental, moral and spiritual self of man.

1. BRAHMAMUHURTA Get up at 4 a.m. daily. This is Brahmamuhurta which is extremely favourable for Sadhana. Do all your morning spiritual Sadhana during this period from 4 a.m . to 6:30 or 7 a.m. Such Sadhana gives quick and maximum progress.

2. ASANA Sit on Padmasana (lotus pose), Siddhasana (adept's pose) or Sukhasana (any pose you like) for your Japa and meditation for half an hour, facing east or north. Increase the period gradually to three hours. Practice Sirshasana (headstand) and Sarvangasana (shoulderstand) for maintenance of health and Brahmacharya. Take light physical exercises as walking, etc., regularly. Do twenty rounds of easy, comfortable Pranayama (breathing exercises). Do not strain yourself while doing Pranayama.

3. JAPA You can repeat any Mantra (sacred syllable), such as pure Om or Om Namo Narayanaya, Sri Ram, Sita Ram, Sri Ram Jaya Ram Jaya Jaya Ram, Om Namah Sivaya, Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya, Om Saravanabhavaya Namah, Hari Om, or Gayatri (a sacred Vedic Mantra), according to your taste or inclination, from 108 times to 21,600 times daily. Devotees of Christ may repeat the name Jesus or Hail Mary, Mother of Jesus. Parsis, Sikhs and Muslims may select a name or Mantra from the Zend Avesta, Granth Sahib or Koran respectively.

4. DIETETIC DISCIPLINE Take Sattvic food. Give up chillies, tamarind, garlic, onion, sour articles, oil, mustard, asafoetida. Observe moderation in diet (Mitahara). Do not overload the stomach. Give up those things which the mind likes best for a fortnight once or twice in a year. Eat simple food. Milk and fruits help concentration. Take food as medicine to keep the life going. Eating for enjoyment is a sin. Give up salt and sugar for a week or a fortnight. You must be able to live on rice, dhal and bread without any pickle. Do not ask for extra salt for dhal, and sugar for tea, coffee and milk. People taking a non-vegetaraian diet should try their best to gradually give up flesh-eating as completely as possible. They will be immensely benefited.

5. MEDITATION Have a separate meditation room under lock and key. If this is not possible then a corner of the room should be set apart with a small cloth screen or curtain drawn across. Keep the room spotlessly clean.

6. SVADHYAYA Study systematically the Gita, Ramayana, Bhagavatam, Vishnu-Sahasranama, Lalita-Sahasranama, Adityahridaya, Upanishads, Yoga Vasishta, Bible, Imitation of Christ, Zend Quran, the Tripitakas, the Granth Sahib and other religious books from half an hour to one hour daily, and have Suddha Vichara (pure thoughts).

7. ELEVATE THE MIND Learn by heart some prayer - Slokas (prayer verses), Stotras (hymns) and repeat them as soon as you sit in the Asana before starting Japa or meditation. This will elevate the mind quickly.

8. BRAHMACHARYA Preserve the vital force (Veerya (seminal energy)) very, very carefully. Veerya is God in motion or manifestation (Vibhuti). Veerya is all power. Veerya is all money. Veerya is the essence of life, thought and intelligence. This instruction is not for bachelors only. Householders also must follow it as far as possible. They must be extremely moderate in their marital connections with their spouse. This is very important.

9. CHARITY Do charity regularly, every month, or even daily according to your means. Never fail in this item. If necessary forego some personal wants but keep up this charity regularly.

10. HAVE SATSANG Give up bad company, smoking, meat and alcoholic liquors entirely. Have constant Satsang (association with holy people). Do not develop any evil habits. Deliberately exert to develop positive virtuous qualities.

11. FAST Fast on Ekadasi (11th day of the Hindu lunar fortnight) or live on milk and fruits only. Christians must fast on alternate Sundays, Muslims on alternate Fridays, and Parsis on a suitable day every fortnight.

12. JAPA MALA Have a Japa Mala (rosary) around your neck or in your pocket or underneath your pillow at night. This will remind you of God. Twirl the beads during your leisure. You should repeat the Name at all times, whatever task you may be engaged in.

13. OBSERVE MOUNA Observe Mouna (vow of silence) for a couple of hours daily. Do not make gestures and inarticulate noises during the period of silence.

14. DISCIPLINE OF SPEECH Speak the truth at all cost. Speak a little. Speak sweetly. Always utter encouraging words. Never condemn, criticize or discourage. Do not raise your voice and shout at little children or subordinates.

15. BE CONTENT Reduce your wants. If you have four shirts, reduce the number to three or two. Lead a happy, contented life. Avoid unnecessary worry. Be mentally detached. Have plain living and high thinking. Think of those who do not possess even one-tenth of what you have. Share with others.

16. PRACTICE LOVE Never hurt anybody. Ahimsa Paramo Dharmah (Non-injury is the highest virtue). Control anger by love, Kshama (forgiveness) and Daya (compassion). Serve the sick and the poor with love and affection. This is service of God.

17. BE SELF RELIANT Do not depend upon servants. Self-reliance is the highest of all virtues.

18. HAVE SELF-ANALYSIS Think of the mistakes you have committed during the course of the day, just before retiring to bed (self-analysis). Keep a daily spiritual diary and self-correction register as Benjamin Franklin did. Maintain a daily routine and resolve-form. Do not brood over past mistakes.

19. DO YOUR DUTY Remember that death is awaiting you at every moment. Never fail to fulfil your duties. Have pure conduct (Sadachara).

20. REMEMBER GOD Think of God as soon as you wake up and just before you go to sleep, and at all other times whether engaged in any work or not. Repeat His Name always. Surrender yourself completely to God (Saranagati).

This is the essence of all spiritual Sadhana. It will lead you to liberation. All these spiritual canons must be rigidly observed. You must not give any leniency to the mind.

Indian Media

Found in my inbox (with my footnote down below):

Who owns the media in India?

Recent Gujrat election have witnessed unaccountable money paid to media persons of both print and electronic by Saudi Arabia to discredit Modi and the Hindutva forces, which Media did very faithfully without success.

There are several major publishing groups in India, the most prominent among them being the Times of India Group, the Indian Express Group, the Hindustan Times Group,

The Hindu group, the Anandabazar Patrika Group, the Eenadu Group, the Malayalam Manorama Group, the Mathrubhumi group, the Sahara group, the Bhaskar group, and the Dainik Jagran group.

Let us see the ownership of different media agencies:

NDTV: A very popular TV news media is funded by Gospels of Charity in Spain Supports Communism. Recently it has developed a soft corner towards Pakistan because Pakistan President has allowed only this channel to be aired in Pakistan . Indian CEO Prannoy Roy is co-brother of Prakash Karat, General Secretary of the Communist party of India. His wife and Brinda Karat are sisters.

India Today which used to be the only national weekly who supported BJP is now bought by NDTV!! Since then the tone has changed drastically and turned into Hindu bashing.

CNN-IBN: This is 100 percent funded by Southern Baptist Church with its branches in all over the world with HQ in US. The Church annually allocates $800 million for promotion of its channel. Its Indian head is Rajdeep Sardesai and his wife Sagarika Ghosh.

Times group list: Times Of India, Mid-Day, Nav-Bharth Times, Stardust, Femina, VijayaTimes,
Vijaya Karnataka, Times now (24- hour news channel) and many more.. Times Group is owned by Bennet & Coleman. 'World Christian Council' does 80 percent of the Funding, and an Englishman and an Italian equally share balance 20 percent. The Italian Robertio Mindo is a close relative of Sonia Gandhi.

Star TV: It is run by an Australian, who is supported by St. Peters Pontificial Church Melbourne .

Hindustan Times: Owned by Birla Group, but hands have changed since Shobana Bhartiya took over. Presently it is working in Collaboration with Times Group.

The Hindu:
English daily, started over 125 years has been recently taken over by Joshua
Society, Berne, Switzerland. N.Ram's wife is a Swiss national.

Indian Express: Divided into two groups - The Indian Express and new Indian Express (southern edition) ACTS Christian Ministries have major stake in the Indian Express and latter is still with the Indian counterpart.

Eeenadu: Still to date controlled by an Indian named Ramoji Rao who is connected with film industry and owns a huge studio in Andhra Pradesh.

Andhra Jyothi: The Muslim party of Hyderabad known as MIM along with a Congress Minister has purchased this Telugu daily very recently.

The Statesman:
It is controlled by Communist Party of India.

Kairali TV:
It is controlled by Communist party of India (Marxist)

Mathrubhoomi: Leaders of Muslim League and Communist leaders have major investment.

Asian Age and Deccan Chronicle: Is owned by a Saudi Arabian Company with its chief Editor M.J. Akbar.

Gujrat riots which took place in 2002 where Hindus were burnt alive, Rajdeep Sardesai and Bharkha Dutt working for NDTV at that time got around 5 Million Dollars from Saudi Arabia to cover only Muslim victims which they did very faithfully. Not a single Hindu family was interviewed or shown on TV whose near and dear ones had been burnt alive.

It is reported Tarun Tejpal of Tehelka.com regularly gets flat check from Arab countries to target BJP and Hindus only.

The ownership explains the control of media in India by foreigners. The result is obvious.

PONDER OVER THIS. NOW YOU KNOW WHY EVERY ONE IS AGAINST TRUTH, HOW VERY SAD.

Footnote by me:

The 'Art of Living' founded by Sri Sri Ravishankar celebrated its Silver jubilee at Bangalore in the Jakkur Airfield during Feb -March 2006. It was reported that around 25 lakhs of people participated in the 4 days mega event. People from more than 130 countries participated waving their country flags without any religious bar. It was a site to watch when hundreds of Indian and Pakistani flags waved together to the tune of ‘Om Namashivaya'. Top religious leaders from almost all the religions of the world participated. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam, L.K.Advani, Chandrababu Naidu and many others attended.

Where else this could ever happen? It is possible to have such a conglomerate of people for a particular religion's event but not this kind of a heterogeneous spiritual conglomerate. It had never happened in the world history and if at all another one such will happen, it will happen only in our soil.

I was buying ‘The Hindu' at that time and after I returned from the Bangalore, I was very fondly browsing the past days' newspapers and what an upset! Not a single line was reported about the event. When Kanimozhi ‘shits' at some place, it finds a news in ‘The Hindu' but not this one. At that very moment I wanted to stop it but unfortunately my kids like the Metro Plus etc, and I could not do that. I was feeling like an enemy entering my house everyday morning and my hatred grew when I had to see MK's photo everyday. I was waiting for an opportunity and it happened when Deccan Chronicle arrived at Chennai. I bought it for me along with ‘The Hindu' for my kids. When ‘The Times of India' arrived at Chennai a few months back, my time had arrived and I packed off ‘The Hindu' happily after nearly 25 years!

Does God exist and is He good?

Life's important Questions - 1

Found in my inbox:

Subject: Conversation about the existence of God

An atheist professor of philosophy speaks to his class on the problem science has with God, The Almighty.
He asks one of his new students to stand and.....

Prof: So you believe in God?
Student: Absolutely, sir.

Prof: Is God good?
Student: Sure.

Prof: Is God all-powerful?
Student: Yes.

Prof: My brother died of cancer even though he prayed to God to heal him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But God didn't. How is this God good then? Hmm?
(Student is silent.)

Prof: You can't answer, can you? Let's start again, young fella. Is God good?
Student: Yes.

Prof: Is Satan good?
Student: No.

Prof: Where does Satan come from?
Student: From...God...

Prof: That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this world?
Student: Yes.

Prof: Evil is everywhere, isn't it? And God did make everything. Correct?
Student: Yes.

Prof: So who created evil?
(Student does not answer.)

Prof: Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the world, don't they?
Student: Yes, sir.

Prof: So, who created them?
(Student has no answer.)

Prof: Science says you have 5 senses you use to identify and observe the world around you.
Tell me, son...Have you ever seen God?
Student: No, sir.

Prof: Tell us if you have ever heard your God?
Student: No, sir.

Prof: Have you ever felt your God, tasted your God, smelt your God? Have you ever had any sensory perception of God for that matter?
Student: No, sir. I'm afraid I haven't.

Prof: Yet you still believe in Him?
Student: Yes.

Prof: According to empirical, testable, demonstrable protocol, science says your GOD doesn't exist.
What do you say to that, son?
Student: Nothing. I only have my faith.

Prof: Yes. Faith. And that is the problem science has.
Student: Professor, is there such a thing as heat?

Prof: Yes.

Student: And is there such a thing as cold
Prof: Yes.

Student: No sir.
(The lecture theatre becomes very quiet with this turn of events.)
Student : Sir, you can have lots of heat, even more heat, superheat, mega heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat. But we don't have anything called cold. We can hit 458 degrees below zero which is no heat, but we can't go any further after that. There is no such thing as cold . Cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat . We cannot measure cold. Heat is energy . Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of it .
(There is pin-drop silence in the lecture theatre.)

Student: What about darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as darkness?
Prof: Yes. What is night if there isn't darkness?

Student: You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is the absence of something. You can have low light, normal light, bright light, flashing light....But if you have no light constantly, you have nothing and it's called darkness, isn't it? In reality, darkness isn't. If it were, you would be able to make darkness darker, wouldn't you?
Prof: So what is the point you are making, young man?

Student: Sir, my point is your philosophical premise is flawed.
Prof: Flawed? Can you explain how?

Student: Sir, you are working on the premise of duality. You argue there is life and then there is death, a good God and a bad God. You are viewing the concept of God as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, science can't even explain a thought. It uses electricity and magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one. To view death as the opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive thing. Death is not the opposite of life: just the absence of it. Now tell me, Professor. Do you teach your students that they evolved from a monkey?
Prof: If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, yes, of course, I do.

Student: Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir
(The Professor shakes his head with a smile, beginning to realize where the argument is going.)
Student: Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor, are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you not a scientist but a preacher? (The class is in uproar.)

Student: Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the Professor's brain?
(The class breaks out into laughter.)
Student : Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor's brain, felt it, touched or smelt it? No one appears to have done so. So, according to the established
rules of empirical, stable, demonstrable protocol, science says that you have no brain, sir.
With all due respect, sir, how do we then trust your lectures, sir?
(The room is silent. The professor stares at the student, his face unfathomable.)
Prof: I guess you'll have to take them on faith, son.

Student: That is it sir... The link between man & god is FAITH . That is all that keeps things moving & alive.

Secularism in India

Secularism in India:

Are you a Secularist? Then please answer these questions for yourself

There are nearly 52 Muslim countries. Show one Muslim country which provides Haj subsidy.

Show one Muslim country where Hindus are extended the special rights that Muslims are accorded in India?

Show one country where the 85% majority craves for the indulgence of the 15% minority.

Show one Muslim country, which has a Non-Muslim as its President or Prime Minister.

Show one Mullah or Maulvi who has declared a 'fatwa' against terrorists.

Hindu-majority Maharashtra, Bihar, Kerala, Pondicherry , etc. have in the past elected Muslims as CM's, ..... Can you ever imagine a Hindu becoming the CM of Muslim - majority J&K?

In 1947, when India was partitioned, the Hindu population in Pakistan was about 24% ....Today it is not even 1%.

In 1947, the Hindu population in East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) was 30% .... Today it is about 7%. What happened to the missing Hindus? Do Hindus have human rights?

In contrast, in India, Muslim population has gone up from 10.4% in 1951 to about 14% today; ...whereas Hindu population has come down from 87.2% in 1951 to 85% in 1991. Do you still think that Hindus are fundamentalists?

In India today Hindus are 85%. If Hindus are intolerant, how come Masjids and madrasas are thriving? How come Muslims are offering Namaz on the road? How come Muslims are proclaiming 5 times a day on loud speakers that there is no God except Allah?

When Hindus gave to Muslims 30% of Bharat for a song, why should Hindus now beg for their sacred places at Ayodhya, Mathura And Kashi?

Why Gandhiji objected to the decision of the cabinet and insisted that Somnath Temple should be reconstructed out of public fund, not government funds. When in January 1948 he pressurized Nehru and Patel to carry on renovation of the Mosques of Delhi at government expenses?

Why Gandhi supported Khilafat Movement (nothing to do with our freedom movement) and what in turn he got?

If Muslims & Christians are minorities in Maharashtra, UP, Bihar etc., are Hindus not minorities in J&K, Mizoram, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya etc? Why are Hindus denied minority rights in these states?

When Haj pilgrims are given subsidy, why Hindu pilgrims to Amarnath, Sabarimalai & Kailash Mansarovar are taxed?

When Christian and Muslim schools can teach Bible and Quran,

.... Why Hindus cannot teach Gita or Ramayan in our schools?

Do you admit that Hindus do have problems that need to be recognized? Or do you think that those who call themselves Hindus are themselves The problem?

Why post - Godhra is blown out of proportion, when no-one talks of the ethnic cleansing of 4 lakh Hindus from Kashmir?

Do you consider that - Sanskrit is communal and Urdu is secular, Mandir is Communal and Masjid is Secular, Sadhu is Communal and Imam is secular, BJP is communal and Muslim league is Secular, Dr.Praveen Bhai Togadia is ANTI-NATIONAL and Bhukari is Secular, VandeMatharam is communal and Allah-O-Akbar is secular, Shriman is communal and Mian is secular, Hinduism is Communal and Islam is Secular, Hindutva is communal and Jihadism is secular, and at last, Bharat is communal and Italy is Secular?

Why Temple funds are spent for the welfare of Muslims and Christians, when they are free to spend their money in any way they like?

When uniform is made compulsory for school children, why there is no Uniform Civil Code for citizens?

In what way, J&K is different from Maharashtra, TamilNadu or UttarPradesh, to have Article 370?

Abdul Rehman Antuley was made a trustee of the famous Siddhi Vinayak Temple in Prabhadevi, Mumbai ....Can a Hindu - say Mulayam or Laloo - ever become a trustee of a Masjid or Madrasa?

Dr. Praveen bhai Togadia has been arrested many times on flimsy grounds. Has the Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid, Delhi, Ahmed Bhukari been arrested for claiming to be an ISI agent and advocating partition of Bharat?

A Muslim President, A Hindu Prime Minister and a Christian Defence Minister run the affairs of the nation with a unity of purpose.

Can this happen anywhere, except in a HINDU NATION - BHARATH?

JAI HIND !!!

"Hinduism is not a religion it is a way of life.

- Swami Vivekananda

This is not prepared by/for any political party/group
... these are the observations & the thoughts of a Citizen Of
India

By me:

Secularism is to accept all religions and giving freedom for everyone to embrace their "own" religion. It has a wrong notion here created purposely by the politicians and media. Appeasement of minorities for votes and hatred towards Hindus (like this MK of Tamilnadu) to win the hearts of minorities are being considered secularism unfortunately. It is just because there is no vote bank such as "Hindu vote bank".

Cow slaughter

Know about the British - Cow Slaughter in India
By Shyamasundar (USA ,Vedic astrologer)

The Two most astonishing things for the British who invaded India were:
1) The Indian gurukula system.
2) The Indian agriculture system.

The then Governor of British India Robert Clive made an extensive research on the agriculture system in India. The outcome of the research was as follows:
1) Cows were the basis of Indian agriculture and agriculture in India cannot be executed without the help of cow.
2) To break the backbone of Indian agriculture cows had to be eliminated.

The first slaughterhouse in India was started in 1760, with a capacity to kill 30,000 (Thirty thousand only) per day, at least one crore cows were eliminated in an years time. He estimated that the number of cows in Bengal outnumbered the number of men. Similar was the situation in the rest of India. As a part of the Master plan to destabilize the India, cow slaughter was initiated. Once the cows were slaughtered, then there was no manure and there is no insecticide like cow urine.Robert Clive started a number of slaughter houses before he left India.

A hypothesis to understand the position of Indian agriculture without slaughter houses:-
In 1740 in the Arcot District of Tamil Nadu, 54 Quintals of rice was harvested from one acre of land using simple manure and pesticides like cow urine and cow dung. As a result of the 350 slaughterhouses which worked day and night by 1910. India was practically bereft of cattle. India had to approach England's doorstep for industrial manure. Thus industrial manure like urea and phosphate made way to India. After India attained independence in the name of "Green Revolution" there was extensive use of industrial manure.

Before British left India the daily news paper Guardian interviewed India. To one of the questions Gandhiji answered, that the day India attains Independence, all the slaughter houses in India would be closed. In 1929 Nehru in a public meeting stated that if he were to become the prime minister of India, the first thing he would do is to stop all the slaughterhouses. The tragedy of the situation is since 1947 the number has increased from 350 to 36,000(thirty six thousand) slaughter houses.

Today, the highly mechanized slaughterhouses Al-kabir and Devanar of Andhra Pradesh and Maharastra has the capacity to slaughter 10,000(ten thousand) cows at a time.

It's a warning signal to one and all in India to rise to the occasion!!!

This idiot started everything

The idiot called Lord Macaulay

By me:

This idiot was the root cause of everything. See how he identified the root of our pride - our spiritual and cultural heritage - for destruction. One should not forget the history and also not forget to learn lesson from it - History is for that. The reminiscence of their attack is still not wiped out completely even after 60 years of independence. Only now we are starting to feel proud of ourselves. Only now we are starting to believe in our spiritual and cultural heritage. Only now we started to look upon the yoga and meditation proudly (but sadly after it gained the recognition in the western world). Since last year Yoga is being taxed by these Chidambaram-Sonia clowns while it is being made part of the curriculum in western worlds.
